the story

Life is so beautiful.

I used to work at a restaurant, and I still remember one moment almost a year ago...a couple older ladies had finally made their way up to the front of the line to place their order with me. It was bright and sunny, and they were laughing with each other; and looking at their faces...it's like it just clicked. Because they didn't fit the standard of perfection--they weren't young or slim, or elegantly clothed, or tall--but they smiled. And I realized that they were absolutely lovely. I realized that I really wanted to get to know them--to know where they grew up, and what they love to break a sweat about, and how many children they have. And--I've "known" this, but it just hit me; with every face we see, every mind we encounter, and every heart we'll touch today, we have the opportunity to discover beauty all over again. If we'll see it.

So this is what radiant is all about--this choice to see beauty wherever we go, and to be delighted by it. It's about people and organizations who are fighting to keep beautiful things alive. It's about photographers who learn to pay attention to the world so they can share it through their art; about writers who fall in love with the music of syllables and write symphonies to dance through our minds; and even about products and techniques to bring out as much purity and radiance in each woman's skin as there is in her heart.

My name is Alicia. Come dance with me.
